Friends, colleagues,
We are calling U of T faculty to join us for an urgent conversation this week about our responsibilities and the opportunities to make a collective contribution in this exceptional moment. In the context of the dramatic deepening of precarity among students, staff and instructors, what can we do to share resources and support members of the U of T community who are in need?
At Wednesday’s town hall, we invite an open dialogue about the ways the pandemic is affecting the university, and a more focused conversation around a specific proposal that addresses how we might respond. Out of dozens of conversations in multiple networks that span disciplines and campuses, we are bringing forward a proposal for a way we can act, together, as faculty with secure jobs.
We will make the draft text of this proposal available in advance of the meeting to those who sign up.
